In early October, we spent a beautiful Saturday exploring the Hudson River Valley. We rarely feel the need to rent a car and venture out, but thought the time was right with the changing leaves and soon-to-be cool weather. We started the day with apple picking, pumpkin perusing, and lots of donut eating. We also made it to West Point and then finished the day at The Blaze--a jack-o-lantern extravaganza. Sam was barely interested in The Blaze, but the rest of us were amazed at all of the different ways you can carve a pumpkin.

They loved using the pumpkins as stools and we all couldn't get enough of the donuts or scenery

Halloween to the extreme
