september firsts

September was full of many firsts, the biggest of which was Josie starting pre-school. She loves it and is learning many "meaningful" things, like which kids to stay away from because they hit. (She told me recently that she likes to play with one boy and when I asked her why, she responded, "Because he doesn't hit me.")

Another big first was meeting my brother's first baby in Milwaukee. I took Josie and Sam for Max's blessing and then we spent a week in MN. I love to travel, but it's become much more work with the addition of #2. It was a wonderful trip, though, as almost my entire family was together and attended church where my dad had been baptized. Life has a funny way of coming full circle.
School is six blocks from our house, luckily. In rain or shine, this will be our mode of transportation. (The backpack especially kills me)
Max and Josie became fast friends
Aunt Anna got lots of "helping" from Josie. Uncle Tim with the boys

We spent a beautiful Saturday morning at a sculpture garden and art museum in Minneapolis

Josie's first exposure to kite flying--one of my dad's favorite pastimes
