It has been hot and sticky these past few weeks. We've tried to figure out ways to survive the heat but still enjoy the city. Josie begs to go outside whenever she is awake, so we spend as much time outside as possible in the water. Occasionally Josie is satisfied with reading indoors, but that's pretty rare. We still spend most days in the park and exploring the playgrounds around the city. We were incredibly fortunate to get away for the weekend to the Hamptons, thanks to a friend.

that is funny to see josie reading that book. it was one of my childhood faves and patrick bought it for me as a gift for our first valentine's day when we were dating-- i still have it and emery pulled it out just today for me to read it to her! (i had kind of forgotten about it and hadn't seen it in years!)
