12/5 - 12/8 tierra del fuego

Flew into Ushuaia, Argentina (the “world’s southern-most city”), where we boarded a boat and sailed around Cape Horn, up the Beagle Channel (yes, ala Darwin’s Beagle), and then up the Strait of Magellan to Punta Arenas, Chile. Flippin sweet, including the crazy storms that would blow through (I mean, the water came up over the bow of the boat, exactly like that Discovery Channel show about the Alaskan crab rigs). Fjords, glaciers, penguins, dolphins, vistas, mountains, and a boat full of lovely grey-hairs and us. Sweet.

Midnight sunset
Cape Horn - nothing between us and Antarctica but some wild and crazy ocean
Scrabble
Glorious hike
Love the Tierra del Fuego
A tasty fungus called "Indian bread" that we enjoyed on our hikes
Just before a storm hit
Zodiac trip to watch glaciers calve
Glacier pic
Coooooold, and wearing every stitch of clothing we brought
Penguin island! As far as the eye could see
Social and hilarious
