Santiago is a nice-sized city surrounded by those amazing Andes. We loved the great seafood, sunshine until 9pm, delightful people, and the parks lined with cool purple trees. Things of note: we had abalone, I went running with my wife (I told her to lap me so that she wouldn’t get bored), breakfasted at Dunkin Donuts almost every day we were there (I love you, Boston creme donut), we got pick-pocketed in the main square (though she only managed to take Diana’s sunglasses case before we caught her), and, of course, shopped, played, walked, and took in the sights. Good times and a great launching pad.
