10/31 - 11/1 hong kong

We needed to pass through Hong Kong in order to get visas for China. We’ll be returning here at the end of our tour through Asia, so we only stayed a day, but it was fantastic. Busy and very Chinese, but the influence of the British is indelible.

We started the morning walking the streets of Tsim Sha Tsui (Kowloon peninsula) and then had a noodle bowl at a classic hole-in-the-wall. After lunch, we headed north to Kowloon Tong to for some Mormon temple time. We finished off the day with dinner and then a visit to one of the many tailors in the area where we both got fitted for shirts. Along the way, we saw some Halloweeners and even some HKers singing English Christmas carols. What an interesting place—we’re looking forward to more time there in a few weeks.
